The Ski & Snowboard Australia (SSA) / South East Sports Academy (SESA) Snow Sports Program is a scholarship program that enhances the development of talented athletes in the South East region of NSW.
The SSA Emerging Talent program and SESA aims to provide support and fast-tracked performance pathway opportunities to a very select athlete cohort identified by SSA coordinated activity (SSA Futures, Pathway Program Activity, Events, Dryland Initiatives / Physical Conditioning, and Gymnastics & Acrobatic Training)
The Joint program initiative will target athletes identified as being capable of progressing through the performance pathway to achieve results at the highest level. It is aimed to allow the sports system to have meaningful engagement with identified athletes and prepare them for when they reach an underpinning institute supported program.
We expect to be able to confirm details of the program along with targeted athletes well in advance of the domestic season 2019.
The SSA Emerging Talent program and SESA will aim to facilitate support to athletes in the following way:
Elite athlete mentorships
Individual Performance Planning and Program Management
Management of DTE and servicing including the placement with sport program providers
Discipline Specific Performance Camps
Access to facilities and athlete services
Specific access to resorts and training courses
Targeted performance initiatives for development opportunity
Financial contribution to support individualised training requirements
Aligning the SESA Program and the Emerging Talent Program will only enhance and grow the skill development of the identified athletes within the performance pathway across all the disciplines.
